Pastoral Transition

As you have probably heard by now, on Tuesday, March 17, Pastor Rob Prince offered his resignation as Lead Pastor of Central Church. Pastor Rob and Karla will move to Kansas City to be closer to family, and will also begin a new ministry effort in conjunction with Nazarene Bible College. Sunday, April 12, was their final Sunday at Central.

Subsequent to Pastor Rob’s resignation, the church board, with the support of our District Superintendant, Dr. Mike Kitsko, voted to have Pastor Tyler Sauer serve as Interim Lead Pastor. All other pastoral staff will remain in their positions during the interim period.

On Thursday, May 7, the church board invited Tyler Sauer and wife, Lauren, to interview with them for the lead pastor role. Following the interview, using an anonymous ballot, members of the board voted 14-0 in favor of taking Tyler’s name to the membership for a vote.

*Update: After a favorable vote by the membership on May 31, a call was extended to Pastor Tyler and Lauren Sauer to become the next Lead Pastor at Central Church. Very soon after, they accepted the call. Pastor Tyler will be installed as Lead Pastor on Sunday, June 28, with a reception to follow.
